The shooter must first establish a "pass line" or a "don't pass line" bet. In a "pass line" bet, on the first roll of the round, the "come out" roll, the shooter wins if they roll a 7 or 11. If the roll is a 2, 3, or 12, the shooter "craps out" and loses. Any value on the die other than the numbers previously mentioned secures the player a point. The goal is then to roll that point again before rolling a seven, or the player loses. If the player rolls anything other than their point or a seven they keep rolling until they roll one of the two. In a don't pass line bet the numbers are reversed. The come out roll looses on a 7 or 11, and wins on a 2, 3. If a 12 is rolled the game is a push, to ensure the casino keeps the house edge. When the shooter secures a point and rolls that point again, he loses. If he rolls a seven, however, that is a win. Side bets are extremely common when playing craps. "Come bets" are made only after the come out roll. They are just the same as pass line bets. The come bet wins on a 7 or 11 and loses on a 2, 3, or 12. Any other number establishes a point and then it proceeds as previously described. There are also "don't come bets", which are the same as don't pass line. They players can also bet on specific numbers, being either a singe roll bet or a multi roll bet. These proposition bets are risky in craps games because they are only on the next roll of the dice and have lower odds. Use caution and if you have a good feeling about a number go with it!
